Slavery in the modern world is a crime and an abuse of basic human rights. It comes in many different forms, such as slavery, service, forced and compulsory labor, and human trafficking. All of these take away a person’s freedom in order to use them for personal or business gain.
OUR COMMITMENTS:
To act ethically and honestly in all of our business deals and relationships, and to set up and enforce effective systems and controls to make sure that modern slavery isn’t happening anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.
To be open about how we run our own business and how we plan to fight modern slavery throughout all of our supply lines, as required by the Modern Slavery Act of 2015. We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers, and other business partners. As part of our contracting process, we specifically ban the use of forced, compulsory, or trafficked labor, as well as anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether they are adults or children. We also expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same standards.
To get better at fighting slavery and the trade of people. Vegano Daily, which is the parent company of the “Vegano Daily Group”, is taking steps to make sure it follows anti-slavery and human trafficking laws, and it is also doing its best to go above and beyond what is required. Vegano Daily has taken and will keep taking these good steps to fight against these bad trends.
Vegano Daily, a rapidly expanding network, offers vegan and oriental specialties across Europe with great success. The franchise concept exemplifies freshness, modernity, and contemporary design, with a mission to develop over 100 branches and continuous optimization.
2.1 OUR BUSINESS
Vegano Daily®, a portfolio of EPCC Global LDA was formed in Lisbon in 2021. We have goal to explore “Vegano Daily” brands across the world with a lot of passion, diligence and discipline through sustainable franchise business modality.
Our Human Rights Policy and supplier questionnaire show that we are committed to doing business in an honest and ethical way and to putting in place and supporting good systems and controls. In 2020, we looked at our current strategies to see how we could improve them. Several new policies were put in place, including ones about equality, reporting wrongdoing, harassment and bullying, and a code of business behavior.
As part of our plan to find and deal with risks, we’ve set up a free line that all workers can use to report problems. Our goal is
Vegano Daily is dedicated to respecting and protecting the human rights of all of its employees, partners, and supply chain workers, as well as anyone else who comes in contact with its business. Vegano Daily wants businesses to be open, find and fix problems, review business practices regularly, and work together to protect the rights of workers, especially those who are most vulnerable and at risk of abuses like modern slavery.
To help us focus on the areas where we face the most risk, we need a thorough risk review. The rules and training we give our people help them spot any signs of modern slavery and give them the power to do something about it.
In 2022, we have made sure that our risk management methods work better than ever. Vegano Daily hired a General Counsel who reports directly to the CEO and a head of employee relations to make its pledge even stronger. In 2022, a number of new policies were put in place, including ones about whistleblowing, harassment and bullying, and a code of business behavior.
Vegano Daily also set up an ethical task group whose job is to plan, evaluate, and keep promoting the best ways to deal with human rights, ethics, and equality. The task force’s job is to actively deal with any possible risk linked to violations of human rights and to make sure that things keep getting better in this area.
Vegano Daily also made Complaint Management Cell, a system for whistleblowers that is “complaint@veganodaily.com“. With a dedicated email for workers and partners of Vegano Daily can register or report the problem to the highest levels of management.
In 2022, we put the policy framework into the training programs for both employees and partners. These programs cover human rights, responsible hiring, diversity, and inclusion. Through their onboarding program and training suite, Vegano Daily has made sure that their ideals are fully integrated into their policies and how their partners work. The company regularly updates and makes new courses to make sure that partners have a strong knowledge base in all areas that are important to our core values.
We promise to value and protect the human rights of everyone who works with us, including employees, partners, and people in the supply chain. We know it’s our job to support transparency, find and fix problems, regularly look at how we do business, and work with others to protect the rights of workers, especially those who are most exposed to abuses like modern slavery.
